of Awards
Varies, averaging two to four per year.
Criteria
- Individuals who are not graduates of the University and who make significant
contributions to Penn State's welfare, reputation, and prestige.
- Be sure to describe the impact of the individual's contribution
on the mission of the Alumni Association.
Nominations
Nominations are solicited from members of Alumni Council and are accepted
from the public and the entire University community.
Selecting
Body
The Alumni Association Awards Committee recommends nominees to the full
Alumni Council, which approves them through a majority vote.
Timeline
Nominations are typically due during the month of August (please refer to the timeline information for the official nomination deadline date). The awards committee makes recommendations
to Alumni Council in the fall. The award has been presented traditionally
during the spring alumni reunion awards ceremony, although it can be presented
any time during the year.
