“City Lights” moves to Manhattan for a reception with the Smeal College of Business Dean James Thomas and Penn State Provost Rod Erickson. During the networking event, hear about future plans for our nationally ranked College of Business and get fresh insight into your investment personality and how it can affect your financial decisions from J. Randall Woolridge, the Goldman Sachs and Frank B. Smeal Endowed University Fellow and professor of finance. Register online beginning Jan. 16. There is no fee, but pre-registration is required.

Pfizer headquarters is located in the heart of Manhattan at 235 E 42nd St., New York NY 10017

Plan to arrive after 5:45 p. m. This event begins at 6:00 p.m. Enter Pfizer at the 42nd Street Entrance. Security will check your name off of a registration list and you will be directed to an event check in.

Rodney Erickson, Provost. As the University's chief academic officer, Dr. Erickson sets the overall academic priorities for Penn State and is involved in nearly all operations of the University. James Thomas, Dean. Specialist in strategic management, organizational decision making and information technology, Dr. Thomas is an undergraduate Penn State alumnus who has served as a faculty member as well as dean of the new College of Information Science and Technology before being named to lead Smeal in March, 2006.

About Dr. Woolridge
Woolridge J. Randall Woolridge is the Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Frank P. Smeal Professor of Finance and director of the Smeal College Trading Room and at Penn State. Dr. Woolridge is also the President of the Nittany Lion Fund, LLC, a, investor-owned, student-managed investment fund. Professor Woolridge's teaching and research interests are in corporate finance and investments with an emphasis on the valuation consequences of corporate strategic investment and financial decisions. He has published more than 35 articles in leading academic and professional journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Strategic Management Journal, and the Harvard Business Review. Dr. Woolridge's research has been highlighted extensively in the financial press, and he has appeared as a guest on CNNs Money Line and CNBCs Morning Call and Business Today. The second edition of Professor Woolridge's stock valuation book, The StreetSmart Guide to Valuing a Stock (McGraw-Hill), was released in 2005. Dr. Woolridge is also a founder and a managing director of www.valuepro.net —a stock valuation website. Dr. Woolridge is a Penn State alumnus.

In addition to his university activities, Professor Woolridge has participated in executive development programs and seminars for financial institutions and corporations in 25 different countries; has consulted on financial issues with businesses, investment firms, and government agencies; and has served as an expert witness on financial issues on numerous occasions.

About Smeal
The Smeal College of Business offers highly ranked undergraduate, MBA, executive MBA, Ph.D., and executive education opportunities to more than 5,500 students at all levels. Smeal is among the ten largest business schools in the United States, and is accredited in business and accounting by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
