Game Day Traffic and Parking Information
Michigan’s Football Parking Map (PDF)
Post-Game Traffic Patterns
After the game, Main Street/Ann Arbor-Saline Road is one way southbound
from Michigan Stadium to I-94. Two-way traffic will be maintained on
State Street. Post-game southbound traffic along South Main Street will
include stop-and-go traffic signals at the Scio Church/South Main and
Ann Arbor-Saline/South Main intersections. This is intended to provide
safer crossing opportunities for pedestrians. In previous years, one-way
southbound traffic flowed unimpeded from Stadium to Eisenhower. The
traffic signal operation will now be manually controlled and activated
when pedestrians accumulate at the crosswalks.
Permit Parking
Parking for University of Michigan football games at Michigan Stadium is very limited. The majority of the parking on the Athletic Campus is
permit only, including the Blue Lot at Crisler Arena and Blue Lot West
at the corner of Main and Keech streets. Other permit lots on the Athletic
Campus include the Grey (Yost Arena), Green (University of Michigan Golf
Course parking lot), Red (intersection of State Street and the railroad
tracks), and Buffalo (immediately north of Gate 9) Lots, as well as those
located along Kipke Drive and Greene Street.
Public Parking
Public parking is available at the all-weather gravel Brown Lot ($15)
at the Varsity Tennis Center on State Street, bordering the southern edge
of the UM Golf Course. The lot is within walking distance of Michigan
Stadium, and a courtesy path and shuttle runs through the golf course
providing a direct link to Stadium Boulevard.
The University of Michigan Driving Range Lot ($15) is also available for
public parking. This lot is located off of South Main Street in the southwest
corner of the UM Golf Course. The lot is within walking distance of Michigan
Stadium and is located on the courtesy shuttle's path to the stadium from
the Brown Lot. There are several all-weather spots as well as weather-permitting
spots in this lot.
Public parking is also available at the UM Golf Course, accessible from
State Street ($30 per car, RVs not allowed). The parking lot is only open
on a weather-permitting basis. Radio stations WAAM (1600 AM), WJR (760
AM), WTKA (1050 AM) and WWJ (950 AM) carry game day weather and parking
information. The University's Parking Services opens the Hill Street Structure
($12), the Thompson Structure ($12), surface lots on Thompson and Division
Street ($12), and a small gravel lot on Hoover Street ($25) for football
games. Additional public parking is available at Pioneer High School's
Purple Lot ($30) on the southwest corner of Main Street and Stadium Boulevard,
