Web Guidelines: Developing A Web Site (6 of 7)
---------------------------------------------

Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is a version of the Web's basic publishing language. It is a universal language that allows Web publishers to create complex pages of text and images that can be viewed by anyone else on the Web, regardless of what kind of computer or browser is being used. There are many resources available (on the Web, libraries, and bookstores) that offer HTML tutorials for beginners. Some of these resources can be found at:
WebMonkey
WebDevelopers
Web Review
Penn State Center for Academic Computing

Rather than learning HTML, there are also software packages that enable users to create Web sites, such as the ones reviewed in ZDNet.

After the Web site is developed, test the site by accessing it from different computers, browsers, and by checking your links to make sure they are in working order. After you complete this test, please send an e-mail to the Association's Webmaster with the group's URL and it will be included on the Association Web site under the appropriate two pages:

Chapters
Alumni Interest Groups
Alumni Program Groups
College and Campus Societies
