Alumni Tours: 2010 Travel Calendar

From exploring Egypt to walking through Switzerland, from wild Alaskan rivers to the tame waters of the Danube, Penn Staters are traveling the world together with the Penn State Alumni Association’s Alumni Tours. Breathtaking scenery, exceptional food, amazing Penn State people, the comfort and safety of group travel, and just the right amount of “down time” are all part of every Penn State alumni tour.

Peruse the calendar of 29 trips scheduled for 2010, then choose your dream destination and the activity level that is right for you. Whether it’s snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef or tasting your way through Tuscany, plan on traveling the blue-and-white way in 2010—and create truly memorable experiences.

July	France, Bavaria, and Oberammergau Passion Play July 9–19, 2010 $3,499 plus air A rare chance to see the residents of Oberammergau perform their famous Passion Play for the 41st time as they have every 10 years since 1634. Paris, Strasbourg, the Alsace wine region, and Nuremberg are also included in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

August	The Best of England, Scotland, and Ireland Aug. 5–15, 2010 $2,469 plus air Highlights include two days exploring the grandeur of London before boarding the Flying Scotsman train to Edinburgh. Spend the final three days in Ireland with stops in cosmopolitan Dublin, Blarney Castle, County Kerry, and Killarney.
August	Kayaking the San Juan Islands Aug. 12–15, 2010 $625 plus air Explore the clear emerald waters of the scenic San Juan Islands, northwest of Seattle in Washington State. Camping on islands accessible only by boat is sure to provide glimpses of eagles, porpoise, seals, Orcas, and other native wildlife.

	Walking Tour of Switzerland Sept. 30–Oct. 10, 2010 $2,359 plus air From the jagged peaks of Jungfraujoch to the crystal waters of Lake Geneva, guided walks allow visitors an intimate view of the incomparable Swiss Alps, including The Matterhorn. Also on the itinerary: the wine-growing region of Montreux and Interlaken.
October	America the Beautiful: Red Rocks to Mt. Rushmore Oct. 1–12, 2010 $2,149 plus air Spend 12 days exploring the natural beauty of Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and South Dakota. Yellowstone National Park, Mt. Rushmore, Arches National Park, and other natural and human-made wonders are included.
